Winter Recap – Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument

Slot View

For most of the month of March, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument is where I spent my time; 1.7 million acres of canyons, mesas and mountains. For a cyclist, carrying enough water is the biggest challenge and bicycles are restricted to the same roads as autos. Admittedly, I was in a high clearance 4WD so ten days of self sufficiency was never a problem and regardless, the lack of people and ease of camping makes this a must see place for anyone. Rather than go into detail on great places to go, because most anyplace in Grand Staircase is amazing, here are a few of my favorite photos from my time there.
