Another Craigslist find. I’m not certain of the year, but judging by the components it appears to be from the early 90’s. Andy Gilmour is a custom builder out of Arizona who has been crafting frames and bicycles for over 30 years. The frameset is lugged Columbus steel with a long top tube, short chainstays and tight clearances. I can barely fit 25c tires.
The groupset is full Shimano 600, including the brakes and hubs, with Mavic MA 40 rims.
The shifters are 8 speed STI.
On the back I use an old Carradice Nelson bag with a Bagman Expedition support attached to a titanium rail Selle Italia Flite saddle.
The bike has it’s fair share of dings and scratches, but it’s fun to ride and original to the era.
Andy Gilmour here! cool old bike! Are there birds in the lugs? Thanks Andy
Hi Andy. Beautiful creation, I love how this bike rides. I feel I should know the answer to your question but I don’t and I am currently touring in the Desert Southwest, so I don’t have access to the bike.
